"Minamiizu, a secluded area with beautiful scenery that holds the beating heart of the earth"

The Izu Peninsula, a sacred area for cycling.
The Izu Peninsula was created by volcanic activity and movement of the earth's crust, and is recognized as a UNESCO Geopark due to its unique geological structure.

Minamiizu, located at the southernmost tip of the peninsula, has beautiful scenery including cliffs, one of the clearest seas in Japan, and natural forests of broadleaf trees. Truly a hidden gem and a perfect location for cycling.

"Koura, colored by the memory of the land, a port waiting for the wind "

"Our inn is located in the fishing town of Koura on the west of Minamiizu, overlooking Suruga Bay. Narrow alleys and stairways intertwine, filled with the nostalgic charm of the Showa Era.

Koura dates back to the Edo period, when it prospered as a port waiting for the wind, a key point of maritime traffic. Stories of past prosperity decorate the town, such as the ""pine tree planted by Shogun Ieshige"", the dish ""Shogun's hot pot"", and the ""Korobashi Jizo"" which is said to have been tipped over by a woman of the night."

"A 56 year-old renovated former guest house, heading forward on a new journey, holding onto the memories of the past"

"The building of JU-ZA is a renovation of a 56-year-old former guest house ""Sakakura-so"". The building frame was kept almost the same, but the space was designed so that the new and old overlaps.

The name JU-ZA is derived from the original business name of Sakakura-so, known as Juza. It shows how we move forwards on a journey as JU-ZA, while holding onto the memories of the past.

We came here as though we were called, to start JU-ZA. We believe that there is meaning in all encounters, both past and future.

Be enchanted by a mysterious and lovely journey, full of encounters that will take you through land, time, seasons, memories, and encounters that are meant to be.

We look forward to welcoming you to Koura, Minamiizu."
